Common Questions

Answers to frequently asked questions about our land services.

Do you offer lawn mowing services?

No. We specialize exclusively in land clearing, hardscaping, grading, and tree services. We do not offer routine lawn maintenance or mowing.

What is forestry mulching?

Forestry mulching uses a specialized machine to grind trees and brush into mulch on the spot. It's faster than traditional clearing, prevents erosion by leaving a protective ground layer, and doesn't require burning permits or hauling debris off site. It's typically the most cost-effective option for clearing dense underbrush and small-diameter trees.

How much does land clearing cost?

For most projects in Northwest Georgia, land clearing runs roughly $1,500 to $4,500 per acre, depending on tree density, terrain, stump removal, and how the debris is handled. Forestry mulching is usually the lower end of that range; full clearing with stump grinding and hauling is at the higher end. We provide free on-site estimates so you get an actual number, not a phone guess.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Rome, GA and serve all of Northwest Georgia including Cartersville, Cedartown, Calhoun, Adairsville, Acworth, Kennesaw, Dallas, Rockmart, Summerville, Trion, and the surrounding region. For larger projects we travel throughout Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, and North Florida. See our full service area map for details.

How fast can you start a project?

Most projects can start within one to three weeks of an accepted estimate, weather permitting. Smaller jobs and emergencies (storm damage, hazardous trees) often get on the schedule faster. Larger commercial work is coordinated to your build timeline.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate is free and includes an on-site walkthrough so we can give you accurate pricing for the actual scope of work. We don't quote sight-unseen for anything beyond the smallest tasks, because phone guesses tend to be wrong in expensive ways.

Do you handle large or commercial projects?

Yes. A large portion of our work is commercial site prep, multi-acre estate clearing, and development projects requiring grading, drainage, and access roads. We own our heavy equipment and don't subcontract the core work, which keeps timelines and quality predictable.

What types of retaining walls do you build?

We build segmental block walls, large boulder walls, and engineered structural walls depending on the site, height, and load. For taller walls or those holding back significant slopes, we design for proper drainage, geogrid reinforcement, and footing depth so the wall actually lasts.

Can you fix drainage problems on my property?

Yes. Drainage issues are one of the most common reasons people call us. Solutions range from simple regrading and swales to French drains, catch basins, and full surface-water management plans. We diagnose the source of the water first, then fix it, rather than just treating the symptom.

Do you remove stumps after clearing?

It depends on your end use. For pasture, recreational, or hunting land, we often leave stumps ground low to grade. For buildable lots or anywhere you'll be running equipment over the ground, we remove stumps fully. We'll discuss the right approach during your on-site estimate.

Do you handle the debris and hauling?

Yes. For mulching projects, the wood is left as ground cover on site. For full clearing where debris needs to go, we handle hauling and disposal. The cost is included in your written estimate so there are no surprise charges at the end.

Will you pull permits or coordinate with surveyors?

For most clearing and hardscape work in unincorporated Northwest Georgia counties, no permit is required. For municipal jobs, structural retaining walls above certain heights, or anything tied to a building permit, we'll let you know what's needed and can coordinate with your surveyor or engineer.
