Hickory Hill Equipment

More Than Just Landscaping

We aren't a "mow, blow, and go" crew. We specialize in the heavy lifting that transforms properties. From clearing acres of overgrown forest to engineering structural retaining walls, we have the machinery and expertise to handle projects that other landscapers can't touch.

Our Philosophy: Do it right the first time. We don't cut corners on drainage, we don't skimp on materials, and we treat every acre as if it were our own.

Core Values

The Hickory Hill Standard

Reliability

We show up when we say we will. Weather happens, but lack of communication doesn't. You'll never be left guessing.

Precision

Whether it's the grade of a slope or the level of a retaining wall, we measure twice and dig once. Details matter.

Integrity

We provide transparent, written estimates. No hidden fees, no surprise upcharges. Just honest work for an honest price.

Our Story

Hickory Hill Landscaping & Land Management started the way most worthwhile businesses do: a frustration with how things were being done. We watched property owners get bounced between residential landscapers who couldn't handle acreage, and large commercial contractors who didn't want to bother with a 5-acre estate or a single complex retaining wall.

So we built a crew specifically to fit that gap. Our operators come from backgrounds in heavy civil work, forestry, and stone masonry. They speak the language of excavation tolerances, slope ratios, and drainage flow lines, but they also know how to walk a property with a homeowner and explain exactly what's about to happen on their land.

Based in Rome, Georgia, we now serve property owners, developers, builders, and land managers throughout Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama, with select larger projects across the broader Southeast. From an overgrown 40-acre tract in Floyd or Cherokee County to a structural retaining wall on the Lookout Mountain side of DeKalb County, AL, we take projects where heavy iron and disciplined craftsmanship are both required.

Capabilities

Equipment Built for the Work

Big jobs need big iron. Our fleet handles everything from selective tree removal to multi-acre site preparation without subcontracting the heavy work.

Forestry Mulchers

Track-mounted mulching heads turn standing brush and small-diameter trees into a uniform ground cover in a single pass. Faster than traditional clearing, no burning, no debris hauling.

Excavators & Dozers

Mid-size excavators and dozers for pad prep, drainage cuts, slope reshaping, stump removal, and footing excavation on retaining walls of any scale.

Skid Steers & Attachments

The workhorses for tight-access jobs, hardscape staging, material handling, and finish grading where bigger equipment simply doesn't fit.

Dump Trucks & Transport

In-house transport means we move our own equipment between job sites without waiting on third-party haulers, keeping projects on schedule.

How We Work

From First Call to Final Walkthrough

1. Free On-Site Assessment

We walk your property in person. Phone quotes don't account for terrain, access, or soil conditions, and we won't pretend otherwise. Same-day or next-day visits when possible.

2. Written, Itemized Estimate

You get a clear scope of work with line-item pricing, an honest timeline, and notes on any unknowns we may hit. No vague lump sums, no pressure to sign on the spot.

3. Scheduled Execution

Most projects start within one to three weeks of approval, weather permitting. We give you a single point of contact and check in daily on active job sites.

4. Walkthrough & Cleanup

When the work is finished, we walk it with you. Anything that isn't right gets corrected before we leave. The site is left clean and ready for the next phase, whether that's building, planting, or simply enjoying it.

Have a Project In Mind?

Whether you have raw acreage that needs to be opened up, a drainage problem that keeps coming back, or a hillside that needs a real retaining wall, we'd be glad to take a look. Free, no-pressure estimates.
